I Have A Dream, Too, Dr. Martin Luther King
I'm a bit reluctant to share my biggest dream/wish ever, ever since I got laughed at the first time I said it aloud on a trip inside a mental hospital. It was around the time my mother died that I had this great idea for the first time. Sometimes I try to figure out how to make it happen, other times I just shut up about it, cuz yeah, it's a crazy idea that I had while on mini vaca from my life inside a mental institution.
I was told this was impossible. No one person could do this, but I love a challenge and I'm a realist when I'm not out of my mind in mania. Sooooooooooooo, I'm tossing this one out to the readers of this blog. I have a few ideas but mostly my solutions to this problem revolve around silliness.
For example, not less counterfeit money in our society but more of it. Monopoly money too. Basically I'd like to see money drop out of the equation on how to fix the big issues of the world. Lets start talking about some of this stuff and leave money out the discussion entirely.
People get very creative these days when it comes to having and not having the almighty dollar. But that's the problem with money right there, false idol that some people have started to worship. We are starting to head back to a barter system in some pockets of our society. I'd love to see a lot more of that all around.
I bring up this solution for financial issues because I recently received a counterfeit bill. I took it in good faith, but knew something was off. When I tried to pay for my fast food dinner with it I was told it would not be accepted. Now I had more cash on me at the time but it got me thinking about someone who didn't. What would they have done in that situation? Gone hungry that night most likely.
So my big, big dream?
I'd like to see WORLD PEACE in my lifetime.
Yup, I know, impossible, can't be done, etc. I've heard it's crazy, but since I'm owning my crazy today, I figured why the hell not put it out there. It starts with practicing a little Wally Pleasant (video below). So starting right now, right here, lets start practicing some random acts of kindness to each other. Hold the door for the person passing by you or say thank you to a maintenance worker, or anyone who provides you a service today. You never know, this idea doesn't have to be so crazy.
Please feel free to add your own suggestions for achieving World Peace in my lifetime as a comment.
